The IAP (Independent American Party) is today’s DISRUPTIVE POLITICAL PARTY due to five reasons:
First, the IAP has principles (15 in fact) and haven’t sold out their principles the way the GOP & Dems have – at the convenience of pressure or according to popularity polls and the 'winds' of the time;
Second, the IAP is a truly Conservative option for voters – rather than the progressive Republicans and down-right Socialist Democrats;
Third, the IAP is a National Party throughout the United States and North America (Mexico, Canada) is spreading the idea of Proper Government and Proper Constitutional Principles out into the American Hemisphere (North, Central, South America and the Caribbean with the Independent Americas Party ... were you aware Cuba has a Constitution? It is not like ours, but almost all counties in the American Hemisphere have one now. They don't always live by what they say, and they don't all specify God-given rights or limited government or Federalism, or basic Constitutional principles, hence the need);
Fourth, the IAP unapologeticually brings “the Almighty” back into political discussions as the Founding Fathers did and intended (no particular denomination but not afraid to mention the 'Hand of Providence' or by showing appreciation, recognition and thanks for the “Miracles” God performed during the Revolutionary War – before and since -- etc.)., and because this is a covenant country with God Almighty; as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and others attest,
Fifth, the IAP relies upon the U.S. Constitution and proper Constitutional Principles to develop the answers to today’s issues and problems facing our local, state, and central government – hence we also call ourselves the “Constitution Solution” party.
JOIN OUR DISRUPTIVE INDEPENDENT GOVERANCE MOVEMENT ... TODAY!
Haven’t each of us heard people in the media, in government, and in higher education, touting our “democracy,” like it’s a positive and desirable form of government? Does it grate on you when you hear that? Kinda like fingernails on a chalkboard!
WE know the term “democracy” or “democratic” are both pejoratives and are conspicuously absent in The Declaration of Independence and the U. S. Constitution. Every wonder why?
Here’s what some of what the Founding Fathers said about ‘democracy’ or a democratic form of government:
1. “Remember Democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a Democracy, yet, that did not commit suicide. It is in vain to say that Democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious or less avaricious than Aristocracy or Monarchy. It is not true in fact and nowhere appears in history.”
- John Adams, in a letter to John Taylor, 17 December 1814.
2. “ . . . to provide a cure under which the United States labored; that in tracing these evils to their origin, every man had found it in the turbulence and follies of democracy . . .." – attributed to Virginia Governor, Edmund Randolph, 1787.
3. “The evils we experience flow from the excess of democracy. The people do not want [that is, do not lack] virtue but are the dupes of pretended patriots.” – Elbridge Gerry, 1787, spoken during the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia.
4. “It has been observed by an honorable gentleman, that a pure democracy, if it were practicable, would be the most perfect government. Experience has proved that no position is more false than this. The ancient democracies in which the people themselves deliberated never possessed one good feature of government. Their very character was tyranny; their figure deformity.” – Alexander Hamilton, from speech at the New York ratifying convention, 21 June 1788.
5. “ . . . democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.” – James Madison, Federalist #10
But here’s what the U. S. Constitution, Article IV, Section 4, states: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, . . ..” (emphasis added)
Last but not least, we also have “ . . . and to the Republic for which it stands,” in the Pledge of Allegiance.(again, emphasis added)
So, the next time you are at a gathering where someone mentions that we live in a democracy, know they haven’t read the Constitution nor pledged allegiance to the flag recently. Then ask them where the term ‘Democracy’ is in any of our nation's founding documents. Don't be surprised if he or she squirms or makes excuses or tries to go all scholarly on you to confuse the FACTS.
Many citizens sense that something is amiss with many lawmakers at the state and federal level (well beyond Biden and the Democrats), and they’re looking for solid, complete and time-tested political truths, so we invite you to find those ‘complete and time-tested principles’ in use and being used in the IAP. Then visit the IAP website, which can readily be found right here at: http://www.iaputah.org
We are looking for people desiring to help turn our nation around to how the Founders set it up and wanted it to continue to grow toward the ideal of ".. a more perfect Union.." where "...all men are created equal..." and that there is "equal justice under the law...".
You can become a member of the IAP by registering to vote and affiliate with the IAP on your voter registration form. And for those who want to put their money where their head and heart are, you can donate as little as $20.00 a year on our donor page to become an Active Member in Good Standing; or even just $10 a month for a year to become a Sustaining Member … or more.

No one in this organization is paid one cent for using their time and talents used to promote good righteous government, so can’t you give a little?
You can make a big difference, starting in little ways. It’s never too late to stand on correct political principles, 15 in fact! . Join us in this righteous battle.

We find solutions to most issues within the Constitution and Constitutional Principles found in the CONSTITUTION. The Independent American Party (IAP) IS 'The Constitution Solution Party' for National issues, Local & State issues, municipal and township topics. We follow the Constitution - the road-map our Founding Father's and the Hand of Providence gave us - to find the proper role of government and the solutions to the woes of today from TOO MUCH Government ... excessive government over-reach ... illegal & improper rules and regulations (masquerading under the 'color-of-law') all in the guise of the 'administrative state' ... it ALL comes down to 21st Century tyranny!
WE THE PEOPLE are no longer the ones controlling and telling government what to do .... and that needs to change! WE are being 'put upon' by a huge Central Government reminescent of the Colonial Period's battle with issues 'put upon' the American colonies by Great Britain's government. (However, we do not advocate violent armed revolution, but a strong, steady pressure, a peaceful and Constitutional Solution.) a revolution of the 'hearts and minds' of 'We the People!'
The I.A.P. (Independent American Party) suggests we are in need of such a revolution of hearts and minds with the aim of taking back our rights and restoring our Nation (as well as enshrining the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, AND the Declaration of Independence, back to their FULL GLORY) with the intended meaning and interpretation as the Founders saw and meant it, AWAY from the Progressive and Liberal establishment who have taken over and usurpt the power of WE THE PEOPLE!

UTAH IAP firmly stands with Israel in their defensive war against Humas in Gaza! We abhor the death and destruction brought on Gaza residents and the citizens of Israel by Hamas' un-provoked missile and military attack on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023. The taking of innocent hostages is clearly a horrendous war crime; as are other atrocities against women, children, and non-combatants by Hamas.
Release of ALL hostages (both Israeli, American, and other International citizens) has to be done SOONER rather than later by the NOW international pariah formerly known as Hamas. Hamas and its allies must be brought to International Justice for these crimes!
WE PRAY FOR PEACE AND SAFETY OF CITIZENS AND FAMILIES OF BOTH SIDES, AS WELL AS HOPE FOR 'A PEACEFUL END' OF HOSTILITIES.

We condemn the on-going war, military invasion, all military actions and war-crimes against the families & children of Ukraine by Putin and his Russian Military leadership since Feb. 24, 2022! Now, over two years ago! But has been going on longer than that!!
We also continue to condemn the unprovoked invasion of Crimea by Russia in 2014, the War in the Donbas (2014-2022), as well as the current escalation! Over 10 years ago!
The horrendous and needless loss of lives (tens of thousands ... on both sides) is more than appalling ... it has become so much more than criminal, it has become literally a crime against humanity! And this all falls in the lap and on the hands of Putin! All Ukraine has done is defend their land and their people, their families and way of life from a criminal invader!
We fully support UKRAINE as a Legitimate, Independent & Sovereign Nation and condemn the Russian imposition and totally unwarranted WAR and associated War Crimes on the soil of Ukraine, on the people & families & children of UKRAINE!!

The National Independent American Party (NIAP) began as the Utah Independent American Party.
On May 16th, 1998, the Utah IAP held a straw vote favoring the formation of a National Independent American Party. A committee of six individuals was selected to initiate the organization and by Nov 7, 1998 the National IAP was officially recognized by a binding vote of 79%.
In January 1999 the national IAP began holding semi-annual National Conferences. The national chairman attended a number of state and national conventions of other like-minded third parties across the nation to build ties. Our web site (launched in September, 1998) flourished, and we attracted members in about forty states.
November & December 2021, and into the beginning of 2022, was a difficult time for IAP faithful, because we lost both long-time stalwart and founder Wayne Hill (Nov 2021) and our National Chair/Founder Will Christensen (Dec 2021) within 30 days of each other. They passed away and were the last two founders of both Utah IAP and the National IAP - John Paulson was the third founder who passed away several years previous ... 2022 was a difficult year.
2023 was another banner year for Utah IAP as it surpassed 80,000 registered Utah voters mark (Oct. report) and in November took steps in the beginning of a new 'front', a new expansion of the concept .... of taking the Constitutional Principles, the 15 Principles, the 'proper' understanding of what government's first priority should be, as well as the 'proper' views of the responsibilities of citizens and reaching out to ALL AMERICANS, not just those in North America but ALL the AMERICAS !! Spreading the IAP to Central American countries, the the countries of the Caribbean, to South American countries; to ALL AMERICANS in the AMERICAN HEMISPHERE.!! (Check out the website: www.iapinternational.us ).
15 Principles *short version"
We declare that the 15 Principles of Liberty (as well as both Proper and 'Good' Government) must not be compromised, but should be followed in order to maintain a 'Proper Government' of our Constitutional Republic in the United States of America ... AND
We are NOT a democracy (sorry Democrats !) Our Constitution states that it "guarantees" a "Republican Form of Government." (Article IV Section 12, called the "Guarantee Clause") So, does the Pledge of Allegiance ! ... Duh !
The 15 Principles include (with some emphasis added):
• free governments are based on moral law (1)
• proper government should protect God-given rights of all citizens
(life, liberty, and happiness - aka:property) (2, 4, 5, 6, 13)
• the Constitution is a solemn compact which all officers of government are under duty to obey by oath (3) [emphasis added]
• we are at war with the enemies of freedom and our God-given liberties (i.e., Socialism, Facism, Communism, etc., in whole or in part) (7, 8) [e.g, CRT, ESG, DEI, etc., all of which divide us]
• all citizens should bear their fair share of the cost of government (9) [drat!]
• we believe in honest 'Constitutional' money (gold and silver coinage) (10) [not paper IOUs]
• each state is sovereign (11) [and should not be beholding to the Central Government, in Washington D.C. either financially or otherwise]
• treaties or agreements with other countries (or world organizations) should not deprive any U.S. citizens of any constitutional rights (aka: God-given rights, therefore they can't deprive or limit them either!) (14)
• it is a violation of the Constitution to weaken our military to the point required to protect the States and our borders from invasion (15)
[For another longer version with more details and a 'Full Text' form of the 15 Principles please use the Find Out More button ... below]
In 2001 the IAP grew from one state party (Utah) to three organized state parties (Minnesota, Tennessee and Utah), and twelve prospective state parties. Area Coordinators were assigned to each of four regions of the country.
The IAP adopted its first National Platform in August, 2002, and ended the year with three organized and 18 prospective state parties.
In 2003 the Party changed the structure of its officer positions from the traditional Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, and elected a Chair and 4 Vice-Chairs.
By 2004 the party involvement dwindled, and it was unable to maintain ballot status in any state; however, the party was later revitalized and soon gained ballot access in Utah and New Mexico. In the 2014 election cycle, the IAP supported a total of 31 candidates in local, state, and federal campaigns across nine states.
Today, the IAP of Utah continues to grow right here. (Nationally, with members in almost all 50 states and the District of Columbia and soon members in Central and South America, too.) At the end of 2022 there were 79,387 voters, and by the end of 2023, the IAP of Utah was a party with 81,167 registered voters in the State of Utah (additional growth by 8 April 2024 shows the IAP is now up to 84,294, soon to be 84,000!!) keeping it the third largest party in the state - more than all the other third parties (the Libertarians, Constitution, No Label, United Utah, Green, and Utah Forward) combined and doubled !!
[the following 'End of Year' numbers and monthly figures below are from the Utah Lt. Gov. list of registered voters by party :(https://voteinfo.utah.gov/current-voter-registration-statistics/)].
See how we've grown compared to the other parties !

from 2014 (when the state began keeping these statistics) to 2024 and beyond,
the amazing and continuing growth is still in the phenomenal range !!
HERE WE GO ... WATCH US CONTINUE TO GROW ... RIGHT HERE LOCALLY! Not to mention NATIONALLY or in the rest of North America, but in ALL the AMERICAS; Central America, South America, and in the Caribbean Isles of the AMERICAN HEMISPHERE.
While we say:
. "We were given our name in the 19th Century (1844), organized in the 20th Century, . and the 21st Century is our time to fulfill our mission;"
... we also realize it will take significant work to "fulfil our mission."(... 'to restore the Constitutional republic' ....) but, we are more than willing and ready as well as currently, actively working toward that lofty and worthy goal!!
Actually, the name of the party comes from an 1844 Presidential Candidate who ran, not as a Whig (it wouldn't become the Republican party for another ten years - 1854) or as a Democrat, but as an Independent American for the highest office in the land. He was also a religious leader who looked into the future and said:
"There will come a time when there will be two great political parties. One will . be called the Republican, and the other Democrat. These two parties will . go to war with each other and out of these two parties will spring another . party, which will be the Independent American Party. ..."
. (Mosiah Lyman Hancock's Journal)*
[Historic Note: In 1844 the 'Republican Party' did not exist! That year there were Whigs and Democrats. It wasn't until 1854 - ten years in the future - when the Republican Party formed with Abraham Lincoln as the party's first Presidental Candidate. a few years later the RNC was formed and it became the Grand Old Party (G.O.P. in 1858). There were Republicans before, but they were the Democrat-Republican Party which were also called the Anti-Federalists ... back in 1792.]
That man was Joseph Smith, Jr. On June 19,1844, when he was running for the Presidency of the United States, he made the statement and his 'American Political Prophecy' was recorded in the journal of Mosiah Lyman Hancock, passed down to us and documented for us today.
Parable of the Flag
We also remind people that the US Flag portends three parties - according to Cliven Bundy, who gave us this tidbit at a Utah State Convention in Provo, in 2018.
Everyone knows the good old Red, White and Blue, also known as our National Emblem, 'Old Glory," our Flag. We all know (politically) who the Red party is... (the Republican or GOP - Elephant mascot).
And we all know who the Blue party is ... (the Democrats - with a donkey mascot). ............................
But who is the party representing the White Stars and Stripes? ..............................
. WHY, the Independent American party, of course!
and why we use the 'White' American Bison as our emblem,
(and a powerful spiritual icon for Native Americans, too)
as we are the party of the White Stars and Stripes and only
the Bald Eagle is slightly more 'American' than the Bison!!
On another topic and reason to be involved in a 'third party' like the IAP :
Ezra Taft Benson is quoted as saying:
“... if you vote for the lesser of two evils, you are still voting for evil… Always vote . for the best possible candidate, whether they have a chance of winning or not. Then, . even if the worst possible candidate wins, the Lord will bless our nation more because . more people were willing to stand up for what is right.” (emphasis added)
He states that 'voting for the lesser of two evils ... (is) still voting for evil ..." We also go on to interpret that to mean the leadership of both of the two major parties (Dem & Rep/GOP; DNC & RNC) are corrupt and 'evil.'
So why are voters still voting for the 'lesser of two evils' and are surprised when they are still getting the same old 'evil ' result?? Didn't Albert Einstein call the concept of 'wanting something different while doing the exact same thing ... INSANITY'? Something to seriously consider!!
OUR SOLUTION: Look to the viable THIRD Option ... THE INDEPENDENT AMERICAN Party. The Constitution SOLUTION Party !
As Samuel Adams clearly stated, back in 1774:
"(THIS) COUNTRY SHALL BE INDEPENDENT,
AND WE WILL BE SATISFIED WITH NOTHING SHORT OF IT."
Or John Adams, who said (in:1776)
"INDEPENDENCE now ...and INDEPENDENCE forever.!!"
Gotta love those Adams boys !!
[*- See History Page for more about Mosiah Lyman Reed Hancock (1834-1907)
Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason.
Democrats are the only reason to vote for Republicans
[And we add: Republicans are the reason for Americans to vote Independent
(IAP of course!)]
You can fool some of the people some of the time -- and that's enough to make a decent living (and get elected, for most politicians).
AND
If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullxxxx.
If voting made any difference they wouldn't let us do it.
The American Constitution was not written to protect criminals; it was written to protect the government from becoming criminals.
"Have you ever wondered why Republicans are so interested in encouraging people to volunteer in their communities? It’s because volunteers work for no pay. Republicans have been trying to get people to work for no pay for a long time."
"Maybe it’s not the politicians who suck; maybe it’s something else. Like the public. That would be a nice realistic campaign slogan for somebody: ‘The public sucks. Elect me.’ Put the blame where it belongs: on the people. Because if everything is really the fault of politicians, where are all the bright, honest, intelligent Americans who are ready to step in and replace them? Where are these people hiding? The truth is, we don’t have people like that. Everyone’s at the mall, … buying sneakers with lights in them. And complaining about the politicians."
